Zakat Foundation Of America funded another Mosque Construction Project for Rural Muslim in Cambodia to ease the difficulties in their daily religious practice
Stung Treng: Far from downtown and in poor rural area of Damrei Phong village, Koh Sampeay commune, Siem Bok district, Stung Treng province, The Office of Humanitarian Assistance of Cambodian Muslim Media Center with the financial support from Zakat Foundation of America , has organized a groundbreaking Ceremony of Masjid Al Umma under Honorary presence of H.E Sles Nazy, Advisor to the Ministry of Information and President of the Cambodian Muslim Media Center to start the mosque construction that would full fill the infrastructure needs of the local Muslim people. The ceremony was held on June 15, 2022, with the participation of local authorities, Imam Of the Mosque Teachers, residents and students.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, H.E Sles Nazy said that in order to contribute to the Royal Government in the development of the community of the people who lack of places to practice their religion and with the request of the Cambodia Muslim Media Center, this small mosque was finally decided donated by US philanthropists through the Zakat Foundation Of America.
The mosque is called Masjid Al-Umma, with the size 10m x 12m, has a bathroom, a well and a Wduk place, which would be costed over 30,000USD. H.E Nazy said.
Taking this opportunity , He thanked the Royal Government under the wise leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister, for opening NGOs to bring and accept the foreign aid to develop the community. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Zakat Foundation Of America which often provides assistance to contribute to the development of people in the Cambodian community. His Excellency also instructed the people to continue to work together to make this project a success from beginning to finish.
The people expressed their enthusiasm and happiness and thanked HE Sles Nazy, the team as well as the philanthropists who decided to build this mosque, which is really necessary for them to practice their religion.
