Clubs, Bars and high risk activities suspended for 7 days in Phnom Penh


Hopes of a reopening of nightclubs and KTVs in Phnom Penh tomorrow have been dashed by the decision of the Phnom Penh Capital Administration on November 29, 2021 to suspend high risk activities and businesses for another 7 days.

The decision to suspend ‘activities, occupations or businesses at high risk of spreading COVID-19 and Private gatherings’ runs for 7 days from November 29 to December 5, 2021.

The main points of the declaration are:

– Karaoke (KTVs), bars, and discotheques are prohibited from opening

– Gatherings of more than 50 persons are suspended, except in the following cases:
Meetings at weddings, traditional ceremonies, religious ceremonies, gatherings, and other religious events

– The management or the owner of the place of work, occupation, and business that is not prohibited must assign staff on duty in front of the entrance to the site to inspect the vaccination cards in accordance with Instruction No. 027/21, dated October 5, 2021, on the presentation of COVID-19 vaccination card or COVID-19 vaccination card or COVID-19 vaccination certificate every time you enter and exit the market and Business Locations in Phnom Penh
