Cambodia has vaccinated 13,709,487 out of targeted 14.5 million people with COVID-19 vaccine


Out of the targeted 14.5 million people or 91 percent of the population slated to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to provide not only herd immunity but exceed the required percentage, Cambodia is marching ahead to the percentage set by the Prime Minister.

To this end, since February 10 to October 31, Cambodia has vaccinated a total of 13,709,487 of her people.

They comprise:

Adults aged 18 and above – 10,000,086 people or 100 percent

  • Adolescents aged 12 to 17 – 1,788,802 out of the targeted 1,827,348 or 97.89 percent
  • Children aged six to 12 – 1,920,599 children or 101.22 percent.
  • The total percentage of the population vaccinated with at least one dose of the vaccine is 85.68 percent.

The total number of people who have received both doses of the vaccine is 13,065 834, comprising 9,638 892 – adults aged 18 and above, 1,697,226 adolescents aged 12 to 17 and children aged six to 12 at 1,729,675.

The number who have received their third or booster dose, including frontliners in eight provinces facing Thailand in early August and 11out of 14 districts in Phnom Penh which started on October 11, stands at 1,860,725.

These numbers and statistics make Cambodia one of the most vaccinated countries in the world and Phnom Peng the most vaccinated city.

Case numbers from COVID-19 and deaths attributed to the virus have also steadily dropped and today marks the day sandbox tourism opens up in three areas in Cambodia.

Cinemas, museums, and other not high-risk businesses have also been allowed to open, except for high-risk businesses such as KTVs and night clubs which are still closed.
